Enrollment and Wait Lists
Students should enroll promptly at their scheduled appointment time(s) to ensure their best chances of enrolling in desired courses. Check TritonLink for enrollment appointment start times.
Lecture Courses
The School of Biological Sciences follows university enrollment and electronic wait list processes for all lecture courses. Students should use WebReg for add/drop/change requests through Friday of Week 2, the university's official deadline to add classes. Students may continue to drop without a "W," change grading option and number of units (if applicable) via WebReg through Friday of Week 4. Students may continue to drop with a "W" via Webreg through Friday of Week 6.
If on the wait list for a course, the automatic wait list system runs nightly through Thursday of Week 2, adding eligible students in the order that they appear on a space available basis. After the last run on Thursday evening, a student's position on the wait list is no longer valid.
The School will only consider late adds (Weeks 3-10) on a space available basis and with the permission of the instructor. Late add requests may be submitted via the UC San Diego Enrollment Authorization System (EASy). Late adds are not guaranteed.
Please review Undergraduate Enrollment for additional information.
Lab Courses
There are special regulations, procedures and deadlines associated with enrollment in biology lab courses. Please see Lab Course Information for details.
Non-UC San Diego Student Enrollment
Non-matriculated individuals have a number of options for which to take individual classes at UC San Diego. Please see How to Enroll in Individuals Classes (Non-UC San Diego Students) for further information.
If a student is administratively dropped from a course (e.g. due to non-payment, missing prerequisites, etc.), their seat in the course or spot on the waitlist is relinquished to the next student eligible to enroll in the course. The School does not guarantee enrollment to students who have been dropped from courses.
